Mods for a 96 4.6

What would be the first mods you would do to a 96 4.6 5-speed that already has a short throw and eibachs? I'm thinking L/T's, x-pipe, catback, steeda CAI, MAF, TB, C&L upper intake, and 4.10's. With that said what would the car run with those mods? I want to get it to run low 13's high 12's NA. After those mods I was thinking about doing a PI headswap, how hard is that and how much can u get a set of PI heads and intake for?

Have you ever went to the track w/ your car? If not i highly recomend going in stock trim to see how low you can get your e.ts. I have a 98 w/ only h pipe, flows, drop in k&n. W just those few mods I have gotten it down to a 14.4@95 in the 1/4 and 9.2 in the 1/8 So I htink w/ just nittos and gears i will be into the 13's w/ ease. And then here comes the ported headswap so i can hit 300rwhp

Get some PI Heads! ASAP! But if that's a little too pricey, 4.10 gears REALLY wake the little 4.6L up and a good exhaust is a must. I'd also recommend a better shifter i.e. Steeda Tri-Ax or a Pro 5.0. Other than that, I'd say start planning. If you are planning a blower, don't waste the cash on a cold air kit, cuze once you get the blower the C.A.I. will just sit and collect dust. Plan what you want to do....drag, road course. strictly daily driver....whatever. Just spend your cash wisely. BTW: Nitrous is the cheapest and most effective horsepower gains you can get but remeber...MODERATION! I hope me and some of the other guys helped you out a bit.

Install a pair of PI cams and a PI intake manifold.
This will give you at least 20 hp. If you shop around you could pick them up for around $200.
Learn how to drive your combo and effectivly use the power available before you go dropping loads of money on stuff you don't need.
Also there are a lot of usless bolt on's like CAI's some chips and pullies that will do nothing other than rob you of money without giving you any power.

Take some advice for someone whos been through a lot with a 96-98...do 4:10 gears and a full exhaust...MAF is useless until your making much bigger numbers...CAI isnt gonna make to big of a difference either but if u wanna do one stay away from the shinny metal ones, they get hot...A PI headswap (which includes a PI intake) is the best way to make power NA...if you can afford it have the heads ported and polished and outfit them with some larger valves and new valve springs and maybe a new set of cams based on what u think the future of the car is (ie NA cams, blower cams, ect)....have it dyno tuned (dont order a mail order chip) and work on building a suspension/tire/rear combo suitable to how hardcore your gonna be....and remember, nothing can substitute for practice at the strip....good luck
