Mods to a leased car..? yes no.. what?

Hi- For my first post, I am looking for opinions on modding a car with a lease. I know, I know.. It was the only way I could get the old lady to agree to me getting it.

Anyway- It’s a 04 GT 5 speed.

I'm willing to accept some $$ loses removing the parts at the end of the contract up to a point, and I know I'm going to lower it.
Anyone else bought exhaust or intakes.. Any thing reversible that I can/ cannot do? just curious how far peeps would take it knowing they had to return it to stock in a few years.

I did it with my 01. I was leasing and planning on buying but that changed (long story). But anyways I did springs, shifter, pulleys, mufflers, subframes, shocks, struts, chin spoiler and returned it just like that and never heard a word from them. Just dont do anything to void your warranty (like pulleys)

I wouldnt bother unless your gonna buy it or plan on getting another gt after the lease is up that your parts will fit on, I hear sometimes after the lease is up if you took good care of your car they want to charge you too much to buy it.

No, I dont plan on buying it.. Im debating my path with the car right now...

Dealerships will void your warranty for anything.

Oh your trannys clunking? Must have been the shifter!

Your car pulls too much to the right or left... must have been the suspension mods you did!!

WARRANTY DENIED!

Leave it stock. Save your money.Maybe you can buy the next one.

The lease residual on that car will probably be too high to warrant purchasing it anyway. I would avoid modifying it personally.

Don't mod a leased car. BUT, one way around the dreaded turn in at the end of the lease, is to trade it in before the lease is up.

I just did not know anyone was leasing anymore especially american cars. Was the lease actually a better deal than buying?

Let the truth be known though, financing, leasing, or owning, mods are a horrible investment any way you look at it.

You have to look at it this way...the car is basically NOT yours.....so don't do anything to it. I'm surprised you would even think of modding a leased car.

I leased twice and will NEVER do that again. Maybe you can buy a Stang in exc. cond. one or two years old with low mileage. It will have a warranty & it will be yours. Just a thought. HTH
