A lighter right foot is about the easiest, quickest thing you can do
I wouldn't expect much MPG increase from simple/cheap things, as Ford would have done that already. An extra MPG is worth a lot to Ford's CAFE numbers...
Make that a lighter foot on your brake pedal. You can save far more gas by judging when to slow down and coast instead of jamming on the brakes than you can by going easy on the accelerator.
Always buy regular unleaded gas, the premium gasolines are simply a ripoff. You only need it if you have problems with pinging or predetonation, which you should not need to worry about. You don't get any extra power from higher test gas.
If you must have higher test, simply buy the gas boosters for 2 bucks and pour those into your tank after. Its the same stuff that is used in the pumps to give it the higher octane rating.
Not offended at all. Feedback is welcome (sarcasm is always appreciated) That being said, I never thought of mileage as a concern. I well aware and absolutly love the ability to get up and go, so don't think I am worried about not getting 35 miles to the gallon. The reason I was asking is that I saw a post on a different site (can't remember where) that the guy had put a new intake on and his average mileage went up a good bit. I was just wondering if that had any truth to it, and with prices where they are I deemed it an interesting claim. Thanks again.

As I have always heard it....when they say it increases by up to 7 points....thats 7/10ths of a point not 7. So if the bottle says 5-7 for 20 gallons then it bumps the octane up from 87 to 87.5-87.7 not to 92-94 octane
But I do agree...dumping in high octane fuel just for the hell of it isn't needed...you might even see better performace from a lower octane gas because it tends to burn a lot faster than the high octane
