modular mustang racing tko 750

Well, i'm looking at the 500 for the gear ratios it has. i just put 3:55's in last fall and really dont want to swap to anything lower right now. I am looking a t a procharger in the future, and i was wondering if anyone had anything to say about the the modded tko's as they are suppost to handle more torque. How is the shifting of the 600? is it notchy like everyone says? How is the drivability with the 3:73's? is first gear still tall feeling? With my cam, comp xe 270, my first gear right now doesen't really start to move till 2400. Some guy said that with slicks, the tko 600 first gear will bog a N/A motor, even with 4:56's. I drive highway alot and i'm not willing to deal with too high a crusing rpm. Whats your rpm at 60 in 5th gear?

theres been alot of things said about these tko500-600 tranny, about how hard they are to get into 3rd gear under heavy throttle, wart from promotion has fixed this problem! get around of him and buy a tko from him there already fixed!

Dude, and info you have on pro motion trannys is good info. Is this the street tranny with the face cut or whatever they are gears? i read somewhere, in a magazine, that it was "streetable" but i took that as still more drag oriented. requiring throttle blips to match rpm when downshifting and such. Info on the web is verry scarce on those trannys, so if you have anything good to say about them i'm all ears. The one thing i liked about the MMR tranny is it retained the synchros, but the faced gears are suppost to be tuffer from what i understand.

anyone have anything bad to say about a tko? 500 or 600? anyone break one? wear one out? Had so and so's aftermarket tranny blow up after 2 passes? etc???

well, you need to wear them in, i had probs getting mine in third at first, but thats because i went to the track with 200mi on the trans... I have no problems downshifting upshifting etc, sometimes it feels a little clunky, but for the most part, it feels smooth and strong.

if you want to know how the gearing will feel, do it mathematically, the 600 first gear with 3.73's comes out about equal with the t-5 first with 3.08's. This is great for traction and gearing. It basically moved all the gears closer while leaving the first gear about the same with my combo. before 3.73's i couldn't keep from either bogging or spinning off the line, now it's perfect. the gears are also a good length each, i drove a friend's car with 4.10's and a 3550, the gears were too short and fourth ends too early, i don't think he can stay below 5500 rpm in fourth in the 1/4.
also, im at about 1800 at 60mph, about 3000 at 100mph, so you won't be topping out the car.
