Im in the process of installing a momo steering wheel on my 1990 mustang gt with the direct hub adapter from momo. The problem is that the hub adapter is about 1" smaller in diameter than the factory one so it shows the metal behind and looks horrible. My question is, Is there a larger adapter I can get or do I have to modify some stuff. Pics are much appreciated!

I don't think anyone can make an adapter that would encourage someone to disable the airbag, so they are all for the smaller pre-90 setups. ???

Is it the actual column that is bigger? Could I just swap plastic steering wheel cowls or does it have to be the whole column? If so I will just fabricate something?

I think the columns themselves are different. You should be able to swap in a pre-90 column and it's trim though (AFAIK!).
