Mom's Astro Minivan HELP ME! Tranny!!

It has no over drive... ERR!!! Before they go running off to the shop with it I figured you guys might know what they will sell or have a suggestion... It has 126,000 miles... Fluid is dark! I drove it and if u start out with the shifter in O/D and go as soon as it shifts into the final gear it is like its in neutral no pull but if you drive with it in D perfect... Jus wanted to get your guys views... Im stumped on this one... I was thinking drain the fluid and put new fliter and so forth in it or maybe there is a linkage messed up...

i know the old AOD's the OD would go first and the rest seemed fine but then drive started slipping and so on untill all the gers were gone.

If the fluid hasn't been serviced since it's been brand new at least 3 times, just keep driving it until it breaks. Also if the oil stinks, don't touch it because theres nothing you can do.
