I bought a 7 qt moroso pan part number#2051. The bell housing is in the way and wont allow me to line up the holes for the bolts. Its like a 1/4 of an inch to far foward. Has anyone had this problem? I dont understand why it will not fit on.

I just pulled the bellhousing off the car as well as the clutch and flywheel. The pan fits without the plate between the block and housing. There is a raised part of the plate that runs right behind the pan. The pan fitment is flush with the back of the block. so I am going to cut just the raised section off the plate. The pan will cover it so I am not really worried about water getting inside or rocks or whatever could jump up in there. I moght use some skinny weather strip to seal it to the pan when I put the plate on the block just to make sure no water gets in. It sucks though that I have to do this.

I had issues installing a Moroso pan on mine because of the Lakewood bell housing. The Moroso pan is flush with the back of the engine and the lakewood has the bolts all around the bottom for the block plate. Had to shave the heads on all those bolts down to get it to fit. No room at all. The Canton pans aren't like that. I bought one for the 347 I'm putting in and it looks like it's going to fit nice.
