You read right....advance auto has the mothers clay bar kit for 1 penny in their computers. I went and emptied the shelves at 5 locations here in Indy. The employees couldnt believe it One lady didnt even make me pay the 3 pennies

Nope. Im actually in Indianapolis. I know a guy in another city did the same thing. Their computers are all connected....its not city by city or store by store. What you see at one location will be the same at another one.

The website never showed a discounted price. It didn't even match the price on the shelf (14.95).

my buddy works at advanced and got me a couple bottles/bar...he said every once in a while when a product sits for too long and doesnt sell they just dump it for a penny...so it may not have been a computer problem

just called my buddy that works at the local advance. he said he isnt even showing a mothers clay kit in the system. he also said its pretty much all meguire's stuff now.

guess they sold out really fast

it was probably stuff they had for a long time and discontinued selling and it was leftover so instead of throwing it away or giving it away they just charge a penny

I just went to Advance in Knoxville, TN. They had one kit left with no price tag on it. When I took it to the register to ask about the price the guy first said "Oh I think this is the one..." and then the price popped up: $18.99. So either the price has been fixed, or it's not an all over thing.

Could be a clearance/discount thing... I worked in retail, and after an item is on clearance for awhile without selling, corporate will keep knocking the price down time after time until eventually it reaches a penny. Where I worked those items were taken out of stock and called 'pennies'.
