Motor build

Seeking advice and suggestions from the pros.

I have a 2000 Gt which i am pulling the motor out and going to rebuild my motor. Keep in mind this will be my first actual motor pull and build i do myself. I believe i bent a rod but not 100% sure yet until we pull the motor out. First things first i would like suggestions on easiest way to pull the motor out. Secondly i would like recommentions on parts and setups within the price range i am working with. Budget is about 4000. As long as my block and heads are still good im looking into have my shock block rebuild with stock parts, getting Hitech Stage 2 cams, valvesprings, Mac longtubes with Mac O/R H-pipe, Accufab TB & Plenum combo (70mm or 75mm). I already have underdrive pulleys, JLT CAI, programmer, and i beleive the car came with 4.10 gears. My goal is with that budget and those parts plus any other suggestions or what not to reach a goal of about 300-325 HP. Im all ears fellas....

Get a smaller CC piston like a NPI dish and notch the pistons for the intake valve with those cams.

Just ask yourself if you're absolutely, positively sure you won't want to go FI later on. The NA route has its advantages, but it seems like a huge waste of money to spend 4k on an engine to only make 300 rwhp. Check out MMR's web site: http://www.modularmustangracing.com. If you can spare a bit of extra cash, you could end up with a built engine with ported heads & cams.

The bottom line is that if the engine needs to be rebuilt, don't put factory parts back in. It's a waste of money that you'll most likely regret down the road.

thx for the info guys. just wanted to post the latest on how the build is coming along. motor and tranny have been pulled. i actually got a good deal on a rebuilt shortblock for $640 shipped so i went ahead and did that...i went ahead and ordered manley valve springs, professional products 75mm TB, c&l plenum, and mac ceramic longtubes. next on the list is ford racing 3.73 gears and getting my tuner unlocked. i believe that should cover all my parts for my build.
