Hello All - This is my first post here BTW

I have a very solid rebuilt motor with i believe stock internals (with the exception of pistons but im not 100% sure) and about 15k miles on it. I have put just about every bolt on i can find and install myself onto this motor.

I am looking to add more horsepower. I'm thinking along the lines of reliable streetable power - something in the 400+ neighborhood has a real nice ring to it.

I am thinking the next step for me is to add some performance cylinder heads and a camshaft. Am i missing anythign else out of the valvetrain that these components would require?? like roller rockers etc??

I'm thinking around the $5,000 pricetag range.

I know the basics of what cylinder heads and camshafts do and how they create power by moving air. but i am no expert when it comes to these things - nor do i have the means or knowledge to install them.

I guess i'm looking for are suggestions and recommendations on what components or combination of components (brands & models welcome!) would get me to where i'd like to be.

If anyone has any feedback or discussion it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! :nice:

Since you already have the Trick Flow intake you could go for the TFS Twisted Wedge heads, TFS 1 cam, TFS 1.6 roller rockers, pushrods, and dual roller timing chain to complete the top end package. With a dyno tune you should have an easy 320+rwhp. If your target is 400+, you'll either need to add a supercharger/turbo or do a stroker build.

I like the trick flow heads, the twisted wedge heads would work great with your application and should be well within your price range. You will be short of you 400 hp goal for now but should be very satisfied with the results of the heads alone! You will also need a good set of roller rockers.
