According to all online parts sites, there are two types of motor mounts for the fox V8. I know from reading around the vert mounts are stronger and shorter, but I thought I'd try the taller ones since my engine's headers and pipes sit a little low.

This is the one for the convertible, we're all familiar with this

This is the one for the coupe, hatch. I was doubtful when I looked at 'em, but bought 'em anyway, rolled under car and took one look. WTF?

That doesn't look right to me, but either way, the aftermarket polyurethane mounts are inexpensive and much better than the factory ones.

I replaced the hatchback mounts on mine with energy suspension poly mounts and the ES mounts raised my engine 1/4" over the hatchback mounts. I hear everybody always saying the ES mounts lower the engine versus oem, not true on my car.

There are no brackets/holes for the block bolts.

I am very new to mustangs, so please forgive some of my questions. Are there solid motor mounts for the 5.0's?

I was reading up on some energy suspension mounts and it said they were convertible style and so they didn't need the extra bracket... maybe you're missing the extra bracket? or maybe I misread.

az must just have the wrong pic on their site or something, does not look right at all. the hardtop mounts are basically a rubber block with a stud in one side, and the mount plate on the other, and once the rubbers gone, theres NOTHING supporting the motor. i'd go with the vert mounts (urethane if you can, the parts store ones i have suck), and if you need some height for header clearance you can just throw some washers/spacers between the mount and the block since that part of it isnt at an angle.

It's not just the pic, that's the actual part they gave me!

I took them back and got the vert mounts. Much better. I will get poly mounts eventually.

DavidEwers: Yes you can buy solid mounts.

The top one will fit a 1988 Lincoln and the bottom one will fit a 1983 mustang 4 cly or v8 but not a 6 cly. In order to put a v8 in a 6 cly fox body you will need to change the K member.
