motor mounts

is there any chance when you go to lower the motor it wont line up anymore? Id like to attempt this at one point, but it not lining up anymore haunts me.

It's pretty straight forward. Just pay attention to how they are sitting when you take the old ones out. They can only go in one way and you might have to make minor adjustments to get the motor in the right spot when you set it back down, but we're talking like millimeters worth of adjustments. Very easy. Make sure when you jack the motor up you use a piece of wood on the jack cradle to spread the weight of the motor across the entire oil pan.

I agree. There's enough slop that things should line up just great (you're only doing one side at a time).

One word of caution: there's an intermingling of SAE and Metric fasteners on the OEM and *some* parts store mounts. You might need to hit the hardware store/parts store for some quality fasteners. I got lucky on mine (vert mounts replacing vert mounts) and didnt have issues.

Oh, I recall JRichker having a nice tech write-up on doing the mounts.

Good luck.

Absolutely right.. I bought mounts from autozone and the thread pattern was different then my stock nut that went on the end. I went to 7 autoparts and hardware stores to find the right one. When finally the local mom and pop engine building place had one that fit.

I agree, that's what I used on mine too

well, the vert mounts ARE oem, but just came on verts. Vert mounts are stronger, and perhaps a little stiffer. I believe the hatch/notch mounts were of a two piece design, while the vert mounts are one piece.

Now, the difference between oem vert or hatch/notch belts vs the autozone mounts are night and day, junk vs something that will last a while, that's why I suggested if you can't find oem vert mounts, then go with energy suspension poly eurothane or an aftermarket mount. Only want to do this once right?
