Hey guys, I've recently done H/I 24lb injectors on my car. The timing is set to 12 degrees and the car starts up good. It idles okay but at about 1,000rpm it sputters and if you go to WOT the car falls flat on its face and sputters bad (also the occasional back-fire.) If I get into the gas slowly IE taking about 5 seconds to get to WOT the motor will finally drop the bog and pull pretty hard.
Me and some friends have been brain busting for a while now trying to fix this problem. I've since rewired the car, redid the timing atleast 5 times, Adjusted fuel pressure (33lbs now but ive tried 32-45lbs with no luck.) Unfortunetly I can't seem to get the car running like it did before the heads/intake swap. I've looked for vacuum leaks, checked my fuses and all seems well. Could wrongly adjusted valves cause such an odd problem?
I went to All Mustang Performance with the car and after one of there techs beat the **** out of it on a couple straight aways and grinded the hell out of 2nd, he told me it was a 'wiring' problem... they promptly sold me a 300 dollar harness that I finished installing today. It didn't cure my sputtering problem :/. The car runs just like it did. I guess i'm happy I got new wires as my old one did have a lot of splices in it. But now i'm out 300 and running really low on cash because my starter selonoid and starter both mysteriously crapped out on me today. Ugh this sucks :/. I guess this pretty much covers everything.
If you had a similar problem i'd really appreciate the input.
Thanks a lot guys,
