1968 Convertible. I am new with Vintage Mustang . Engine is higher on driver side. Replaced motor mounts and tried jacking up low side as I tightened bolts. What is happening here. No sign of previous damage.

Hummmmm. Me thinks there are two different motor mounts, I think there is one for a vert and one for coupe/fastback with a V8.
it's been a while so I'll move this to the classic tech forums for confirmation.

I have read that also. The convertible was shorter I believe. I have not found any or specs. Unless they are left and right of different height I see where others would be OK. The ones I installed were both the same

There are different motor mount brackets too. They bolt to the frame and the mounts sit on them.

You may have mismatched frame brackets

Yes there are different motor mounts ,they may even have the same part number and they fit badly . I had the same problem in a 66 GT fast back ,had to go through 3 sets to find ones that fit right .

The ones I installed went on great but did not fix problem. One had been replaced and could have had wrong frame support installed.

Found old thread that explains and show where to drill for correct height. https://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/threads/motor-mount-short-or-tall.805441/
