Motor swap

Hey everyone. First off im sure there is a thread on my question so if someone finds it just point me there .So my friends 2v hit the dirt (not sure why yet) so he wants to swap a 5.4 in. Not sure the model of the engine but my wuestion is will it bolt to his auto trans? and will the exhaust fit? i have read about the intake not fitting so what the fix for that? thanks for the help.. Love stangnet!

The trans will bolt right up, but the exhaust will not. The intake situation is difficult, since nobody sells an intake for the 5.4 that will clear the factory hood now that HPS is out of business.

Couple those facts with the fact that the 5.4L is heavier than the 4.6, and you can see why it's not a popular swap. I looked into doing a 5.4L swap when I decided to build an engine, but I thought better of it and decided to build a 5.3L stroker based on the new Boss 5.0 block.

Thanks for the info. He cant make up his mind on what he wants to do so i will just sit back and wait lol.
