Engine Motor Swap

Yeah it's been done. I've also seen 400 SBC's in Fox's. It's just wrong.
Sho-me Speed up in Nixa, MO built an LS2 Fox. It's honestly pretty nice, but it just pisses me off that someone would do that when you can still get amazing power out of Ford engines.

Here's the exact car built by Sho-Me Speed. It's launching that hard on 8.5 tires

Right now you're probably thinking "yeah that's awesome I wanna do that"

And then you're gonna watch this video and think "Never mind on that LS swap"
Whoopin' up on a Terminator and that is NO easy feat.

I know it can be done, I was considering doing a 350 swap into my 4cylinder, ONLY because I had a 4 cyl. mustang and an old 87 chevy 350 laying around. (Guys, don't hate please!!!) AJE racing makes a tubular K-member with interchangeable engine mounts, that can fit 5.0s, 5.8s, 5.7s, LT1s, and LS1s. It can be done, but not very cost effective. Take in mind that you would have to get a custom bell housing/ scatter shield, use a chevy pressure plate with a matching ford clutch disk (custom sizing), different length drive shaft, and if you plan on keeping the chevy engine EFI, I can't even think about all the custom wiring that it would need. Also a laundry list of other odds and ends that would have to be changed/modified. Just stick with Ford IMHO!

The ls1 flood gates are open again...
Would just like to point out that I've never seen anyone ask about swapping a Chrysler power plant into either a ford or a Chevy... Ponder that one mopar guys

I like my 383 (351 based) With a little boost i'm sure i'll never get traction with any kind of street tire. EVER

Now if your goal is a 2000hp drag car then go for the LSX. But by the time you are done building that car you'll be lucky if any of the car still has any Ford parts on it. (Lots of modifications to make a mustang hook with that kind of power)

Actually, if I remember right, someone once did make a thread asking about installing a Mopar something-or-another in his Fox. It was really obscure post, I can't even remember what motor it was.

I like the LS series of engines, i also like a handful of GM cars, CTS V (old or new) zo6, grand sport, i even like the escalade ext (which is quicker than most think), trailblazer SS.

With that said, i still don't think it's worth the money or trouble to put one in a fox.

Everyone claims that are sooooo cheap and easy to modify.
That's just BS.
I'm pretty sure to get the good LS engine you need an LS6, and they are not even close to cheap fully dressed.

I've been a long time Ford guy and still am however after getting burned by a couple of vendors on my last couple of builds I got fairly frustrated with the modular engine platform. Then throw in the fact that pushrod 5.0's are becoming scarce in decent condition from the junkyard the LS became the next engine option for a budget car.

I picked up a 94 V6 car that was well on it's way to the junkyard, stripped it down and put a 80K mile 5.3L LS truck engine in it with a good cam, LS6 intake, 1 7/8 headers and 3" exhaust, E85, Holley HP EFI and put it on a diet getting it down to 3114lbs with me in it. I started it in Dec last year and finished it a few weeks ago and have gone 11.58 @ 117.37 with a lazy 1.66 60 foot so far. Converter is set up for nitrous so it's coming out soft. I wanted a car that was simple to work on, 95% drag car and just streetable enough I could take it on a car cruise if I wanted to.
