MPG after Head Swap

Any time you add something performance, you sacrifice MPG. After my headswap, I didn't notice too much of a increase in my cars gas consumption. I don't think there is anything you can do to get a better MPG.

in this case that's not entirely true, the bump in compression will give increased gas mileage, also if the car is too heavy and is underpowered you will get better gas mileage. When more power equates to lower MPG is when you are adding more air and thus more fuel which may result from the better flowing heads and intake, negating the compression bump.

Canadastang, what were you getting before the swap?

I'd say it depends on how heavy your foot is. IMO more power = easier to move your car thus = lower millage depending on your driving habbits. But I guess thats only to a certain point.

Thanks guys!! I just ordered the Pi parts, [not here yet]. I'm getting 29 to 32 MPG on the highway. I'm from Canada, our gallons are larger than yours,I'm not sure how many miles per US gallon that would work out to, I'm thinking about 26 to 29.
I ordered the Pi Headswap kit from Parkway Ford [stock Ford parts] and I'm just going to polish and port-match the heads to the intake, but otherwise leave them stock.
I figured the freer flowing heads and intake might actually increase my mileage, but then remembered the Pi heads have higher lift cams. When I installed a higher lift cam in my older Vette, my MPG went from poor to really bad, so I was just wondering if the higher lift cams would have the same effect on the Stang. To lose a few MPG is no big deal, but I thought if it takes away, like 10 or so, I might reconsider.

Not trying to be an ******* but why are some of you guys worried about mpg. This is NOT a good reason to buy a Mustang or any V8 for that matter.
It's not so much that I'm worried, I just had a concern about not wanting to cut my current MPG in 1/2 for 10% more HP, but thanks to the great comments from everyone, that does not seem to be the case.
