MPG - Stockers

For all of you guys running your cars pretty much stock- what are you getting MPG city driving?

I am at like 15.2-15.5mpg driving around town. I shift 2500-3000rpm.

Stock I got 28 highway and 18 city. Intake and tune took me to 35 highway (55mph no stops) and 23 city. It depends on a lot of factors, though. How hilly is your commute, how many stops you have, the speed limit, etc...

I live on Long Island - so there is a lot of stop and go traffic.

Wow an intake and tune brought you up that high? Interesting.

i get 25-27 on the interstate going 80mph. elevation changes from 1100 feet to 8600ft. this is with the mods in my sig plus O/R H and flows. i never calculate city driving anymore, i just add $15 per week to the tank when i am in town. i dont drive very far this time of year in the city.

stock was very similar on the interstate.

You used the SCT X-CALIBRATOR 2 for that tune, right?

I've gotten as low as 9 MPG in city driving. That is in the DC area though, which approaches LA as far as bad traffic. That was also when the car was new and I still used every opportunity possible to stomp on the gas! I think I was able to milk 17 MPG city at one point, but it wasn't for an extended period of time - maybe 30-40 miles. I've gotten as high as 28 MPG on the highway locked in cruise at 75mph.

That's about right man, I've seen as low as 11mpg with 'aggressive' driving. It usually hangs out between 14-17 for city.

I've set the cruise on mine during some long trips with consistent results

55mph - 29mpg
60mph - 27/28mpg
70mph - 22/23mpg (wtf?)

My buddy has an 02' stang and he says he gets 22mpg city all the time.

I dont know if thats on point or not. Maybe because the motor isnt as powerful in the older stang? I am not to sure.

I do a good blend of both local and highway traffic so my MPG stays around 20-21, sometimes I do more highway I bring it up to 25-27. I love cruising on highway setting the cruise control to 65, reseting the MPG computer and watch it at 31mpg.....thats great atleast I know if I go on a long road trip I wont need to stop too often to get gas.

22 in city? Straight shot with no stop lights, maybe. I had an '03 GT. The S197 engine is definitely more efficient.

I get great gas mileage at city speeds... until I hit the stop lights. My new GT is MUCH better on gas than my 2000 V6 was. At least on highway anyway - they are about the same on city, except when I'm really romping on the GT. Three trips now all doing 75-80 on the highway I've gotten between 26 and 28 MPG. Really surprised me that I get better than those horrible window sticker estimates, especially since I was going more than 55mph.

not sure if you seen it or not but there is a sticky thread at the top of the "talk" section. To answer your question it's hard to say for me because most of my commuting is highway and little city to and from work..the last month i've been kinda hard on the car which includes running the car at the track (5-6 runs) and more city driving probaby 50/50 and I was showing 24.4 on the computer which mine is usually about .7 mpg high. Highway to and from work i'm usually 27-29 mpg best I have seen on a trip 315 miles was 31.0 mpg at fill up while computer read 31.9 this trip was before x-pipe and care had about 2k miles on it.

Only have a C&L Street and a canned tune (which sucks, she's burning rich) and I'm avg. around 19-21 mixed driving. Though the last tank dropped down to 17.9.. guess I shouldn't of let my GF steal the keys for that last 1/2 tank.

If I can keep it under 2,500 rpm's on the highway usually below 70mph I can still get 25-27 mpg. In the city I usually horse around alot more so it fall to about 13 or 15

I get 16 in the city, lot of stop and go traffic, and 26 on the highway.

My current average is 19.5 city/hwy mix. My driving style is weird. Some days to work I drive 65 some days I drive 80-85. Half the time I put around town, and the other half Im gettin on it. Havent taken it on a strictly hwy trip yet. Gas mileage is for 4 bangers.

My '95 Contour winter beater doesn't get as good of gas mileage as my Mustang. While I bought it for performance, there's nothing wrong with getting the best gas mileage out of it as possible. When gas is over $3 a gallon, it shouldn't even be questioned.

My Mustang gets 23-24 mpg in combined city/hwy driving and my Crown Vic gets 17 mpg on the same route.
