MPH Mongoose Kit Or 1.7 Kenne bell N/I

I Have been looking into buying either the Vortec S-Trim From MPH Or the 1.7 Kenne Bell Non Intercooled. Both Kits are Around 4 Grand just wondering What are the Main Differences! Pro's and Con's.. I like the idea that the Kenne Bell has almost instantaneous boost but With my setup with 4.10's would That be too much out of the hole. Would the 4.10 and the Vortec Be Better for street use to get traction out of the Hole Since I hear Vortec Doesn't really go into boost until 3 grand or so??? thanx:SNSign:

All KB guys will love KB. All Centri guys will say that's the way.

I wouldn't look at the 4:10's as an obsacle.

Choosing your blower is bigger than that.

Where do you want your push?

If you go 4 grand, are you really worried about the gears? DON'T.

Even after you blow it, there's a possible outlay of cash. Don't let gears mess you up on this. You can always move down, to compensate for the new burst.

its all on what you want and what the car will be used for track or mainly street i personaaly like the KB so my vote goes for KB

my vote goes kb just because it replaces the intake manifold and give more low end torque.

you will have traction problems with both kits on street tires so you will have to learn to deal with it either way.

Yea I Have almost 80 thousand Miles on my car and wonder if putting a blower on would be dangerous! Also yea I Am Going to be all Street Driving! Just Go to the Track To see My Times!

I vote Mongoose kit. It will make more power than the non intercooled KB. I also allready had a traction problem before my Mongoose kit so I liked the idea of the boost not coming on right away. The kit is easy to install and MPH's customer service is the best.

If you're at 80 thousand and have the 4:10's, I might consider the Vortech. But again, it get's down to preferrence. Okay, I'll shut up!

Actually I just got it installed and I need to get up to the dyno to see what kind of power it makes and also to check the air/fuel ratio to make sure its ok. I'm guessing it will make atleast 360 at the tires according to all the research I've done. Check out MPH website and you can find someone similar to your setup and see what kind of power there making. As soon as I get mine on the dyno I will post numbers. If the darn weather would cooperate I would go up there.

Chad has a good deal on a used Novi 2000 on the MPH website. I had a Novi 2000 and liked it a lot. I now have a KB 2.2 and like it more.

Would The Kenne Bell Make more Power idealy at 6psi over a Vortec at 6 psi???? Do these blowers make different power curves is that all ??? confused?

I'm gonna go with the Vortech on this one (and I’m sure that’s no surprise to a lot of you ). If you had the extra money to throw around and could afford to go with the intercooled version of the Kenne Bell right off the bat and were dead set on a positive displacement blower, then I'd consider the Kenne Bell over the Vortech, but in this instance, that’s not the case. Either blower package is upgradeable, but when money is an issue and bang for the buck is what counts, the Mongoose kit will run circles around a 6psi Kenne Bell set up any day of the week.

With all things being equal between both cars, the 6psi Kenne Bell will run about 2-4/10ths slower than an 8psi Mongoose Kit.

Look to see low 13's with the Kenne Bell and High-12's with the Vortech.

......that's of course assuming that you're any sort of driver, that is.
