MRT Hood Strut Group Purchase

Not to cause trouble but do the majority of you guys prefer these over the redline tuning elite ones? I was thinking off getting a set of theirs but may be interested in these?

Here is a picture of the redline kit. As you can see, it appears to block almost 60% of the engine bay on the sides. Also, the biggest draw back to the Redline kit is that you have to drill holes in your hood and rivet the brackets on. The MRT kit requires NO drilling and literally takes no more than 30 minutes to install.

Pics of another set I just had a gp on...

so much cleaner looking, don't you think?

Maybe I can get my guy Stephen interesting in setting something up for the 05-06 stangs? Interested? I know he had the option in this car for either stainless steel or black....

these are only about 8-9 inches long, and yet raise the hood of this car a full 38+ inches, whereas the stock struts only opened it to less than 36... and they were failing due to insufficient pressure. This mfg has the ability to actually 'tune' his struts to whatever pressure is needed depending upon the application.

GenoTex...are you kidding? You come on to this thread entitled "MRT Hood Strut Group Purchase" and say the MRT kit is ugly, then suggest starting a new gp with a different pair of struts. I see that you are new to the Forums (only 10 posts) so I am really going to try to be nice here...but that is just not appropriate.
:nono:

Start a new thread and please don't try to highjack this one!!

No problem... didnt mean to step on any toes....
MY bad....

I will have to remember that ONLY the opinions of those who start posts are allowed.

I respect your opinion on the MRT kit but I take issue with trying to start a group purchase on another product in this same thread.

Mine after install.
Others may not like them, and i support their viewpoint, but I absolutely love them.
Quick, painless install.

Nice picture Humboldt Stang! Thanks for posting that. I honestly do like the way the 05+ MRT hood strut kit looks. Nice looking Mustang too!!

Yes it's very obvious that you respect my opinion.

NEW to the forum? not..... member since....last year, when I got my stang.
10 posts doesn't make me a newbie, just an observer. I have over 3000 posts on another club site.

My interest is/was ONLY in the struts, but I do not like the multi-holed bracket. It's really that simple. That's all, no more no less. Nothing personal, and it's a shame you took it that way. Proprods suck..I think is the way I put it long ago.

I, like you, arranged for a gp for another car that I owned... and thought I would SHARE this with other stang owners. It was NOT to 'undermine" your purchase. AND for your info, I never have yet met the guy that does them, and a month ago had never even heard of him. HOWEVER after arranging just such a purchase on my other car, and in the other online car club, I thought I'd SHARE that knowledge, which is (I thought) the purpose of a FORUM...... to share knowledge.

For some strange reason, I find myself apologizing to you yet again, for what surely was intended to be a good thing. Oh well.

I think you made your point about your opinion on the MRT brackets.
That said, :Zip2:

Let's all move on to constructive questions and comments on the MRT hood struts.
