03 mustang gt. stock headers. 2.5" exhaust w/Flows, 3 1/2" MRT classic rolled tips...

I know the Stainless MRT o/r H pipe is better "quality wise" than the HTS MAC o/r H.

What about sound wise?? Some people told me the MAC sounds better? can anyone confirm this???

I never heard a MRT, but I think the o/r Mac H-pipe is the nastiest, old-school, muscle-cariest mid-pipe on the market, but I'm biased.

yeah, I've heard the MACs before, but never the MRTs. I was just thinking of going w/the MRT cause its Stainless...

did you opt for the HTS coating on your H?

You have my vote for Mac peformance in terms of sound and performance. See my signature for my exhuast setup. No, I dont have any sound clips so don't anyone ask lol.

As for quality, I won't lie. The Mac HTS coated parts will loose their HTS coating over time and will likely develop rust. This can be prevented however. You can get them ceramic coated by an exhuast shop, which won't be cheap. Or, you can do what I do. Go to the local auto parts store or Wal-mart and purchase a can of aluminum colored exhuast paint. Its high heat resistant and contains some ceramic. It will help add another barrier of protection over the HTS coating. Apply a couple of coats before installation and let set over night. It works great. Also, regularly check the exhuast every few months to see if the coating is flaking away. If so, no problem. Just spray a bit more on. Its not too expensive either. About 4 or 5 bucks a can.

If both the MRT o/r Stainless H & the MAC o/r HTS H were being sold at the same price...

quality wise, I know, the MRT would win.
I'm looking for the winner in the sound department...

I figured that they would sound identical, because they are both H pipes. But, like I said, some people said they heard the MRT, and it sounded like a$$ ????

Never heard the MRT H pipe, but I can't imagine it sounding much different than the MAC o/r H pipe. I have the MAC. The sound is insane. Very old school, deep, muscle car rumble. I got mine HTS coated for $160. Howerver, the MAC costs about $500. Think of it this way- the MAC (with HTS coating) will last a good 2-4 years depnding on weather. You can buy 3 MAC o/r H pipes cheaper than one MRT midpipe.

Just pick up the Mac O/R H-Pipe and save yourself some money. If you're worried bout rust, just do what some of the other guys have suggested. Soundwise, ive heard the Mac CB and Mac O/R H and can tell you that its VERY deep and loud. Great sound
