:SNSign:Where have you guys mounted your MSD boxes at? Preferably those of you who have left the battery in the factory location. Pictures would be great if you have them.

I fabricated a mounting plate off the driver's side inner fender at the firewall towards the brake booster. Had to notch a bit off the hood for clearance (barely noticeable after touching up with matching colour paint) otherwise it looks good. I could have mounted it lower but my alarm siren was in the way.

Under hood, D/S, above and slightly to center of brake booster. Held with 2 sheet metal screws into the plastic panel. Not where I installed--the PO put it there. But it seems to work well, and looks pretty good too.

Straight shot for wiring, paralleling/tieing into existing harnesses.

I need to take some underhood pics anyway. Bug me if you're interested.

Is it ok to install them under the hood? I think my crane box said not to.. It would make the wiring easier

We put mine in the best place of all:

it's tucked nicely in there on the pass side. Then, we put thin plastic sheet across it to keep out any splashing. We had to extend the wires on there but everything seems to be working so far.

Not sure about crane but I had my previous MSD 6al under the hood from day 1 - about 12 yrs. It still works but I got the new MSD 6al2 (digital) and have the 6al as a backup now.
