Hello Fellas

I just purchased the MSD shift light, and want to install it. It came with GMR pick up of some sort...There are 3 wires Red/Black/Green. I know red is power and black is ground and green is the tech, Do i use these 3 wires or GMR pick up on our cars? I have no clue and never had shift light in my car before or ever. lol

I do have digital 6 ignition, Do i hook this up with the green wire from the box or what? the shift light part # is 8963 from MSD, it's tiny light and i was thinkning about mounting it inside the vent.

Let me know

Thanks

If your box has a tach output port, that'd be where you connect the trigger wire.

IIRC you use the GMR if connecting to the ignition directly. Since you'd be connecting to your box, it's not needed (be sure to confirm all this with MSD or in the instructions).

Unless you run one, there won't be a wire coming out of the tach output port.

Have you looked at the instructions yet?

Sounds like a plan. Double check your box's instructions but IIRC they specifically mention using a Faston connector. Your female quick-connect should be fine. Try to solder it if you can.

Thanks Hissin

I will try it and test it if it lights up and do the things it suppose to do. I will report back if anything funky should happen.
