How good is the traction of the mickey thompson ET street radials. The size i plan on gettin is 275/40/17 on a stock rims. Has anyone had experience with these tires of that specific size?

I know the 16's have major gription. I am about to buy a set myself. they are veeerrrryy soft, suppose to be the same compound as the bias ply's. well worth the money. wont get much road use out of them though.

i got a shop here that i got mine way cheap,they dont sell to many 17s from what she said.i let you guys know if you want.i can check prices on any and its a shop,not a person.(mccormick racing)

They're awesome DR's. I've heard that they're some of the best out there, from my buddy that actually drag races with a bigass motor with N2O

There the best DR tires you can buy ATM. These things hook just like slicks NO JOKE with the right PSI. Beware if you drop the PSI to much you may break your trans, drive shift, or rear end. I dont have them on my car because I launch hard as it now. I launch at 4300-4600K on street. It spins the tires a little but still pushs the car forward and don't have to worry about shocking something.

for ****z and gigles I drop the hammer at 5500 at the track liast time out... I think I wore about 5000 miles off the Nittos in the 60'

I need the ET's.. the best I can launch at right now is around 3200 and thats slipping the clutch baaad.

5000k miles OMG that would last me like hmmmmmm.... 2 years. I learned not to drive the stang as much cause it always seems to be breaking. I wonder why???

thanks for every ones input. does anyone think i should get a driveshaft safety look or upgrade my axles if i get those dr's?

Well let's see . . . do a stang net search for "broken axle" and see what you come up with . . .

You will need the driveshaft safety loop to run at the track with these tires.

If they didn't make you wear seat belts would you still?

It's just a good, very cheap insurance policy if you are running any type of sticky tires.

The NHRA sanctioned I go to, DOES require a safety loop for these tires! I was going to run my TBird last year with these tires and got booted because I didn't have one. Many of the other NHRA and IHRA tracks that I know people run at are required to have one as well.

Thats kewl.. I was just saying some dont pay that much attention to it. Always a good idea to have the saftey devices and I am in no way saying he shouldn't. It is to easy a thing to install not to have it. Just giving info is all.
