I had the magnaflow catted-X and packs on my old GT and never really noticed the sound issue below 3K, but I also had a full WMS intake which probably made the difference. Why not just try swapping out the stock intake for an FIPK or something before you change the catback, definitely cheaper.

I have K&N, C&L MAF, Densecharger TB pipe, Accufab 75mm TB, C&L upper intake. I have the same sound below 3k that I dislike.

I have Spintech Pro-Streets and I love them. They have a great deepness and burbly chambered sound, and sound great at WOT.

I have also had Dynomax Race Bullets and they drone like crazy. So if you love drone get them haha. They sound good but yeah your ear drums will be close to exploding after a while

Well, I recently installed the MAC Flowpath cat-back with the 3.5" chrome tips. I've grown to really enjoy it, and the tips look great. All in all, exhaust preference is up to the buyer; there are many great systems out there..

I would try borla xr-1's. they sound sick. the only thing I do not know about is the interior resonance.

do not use 1 chambers. the worst drone you have ever heard.

Did you not read the original post. He's changing From the pack's to another muffler.
If i had the choice i'd go w/ the prostreet's or the mac flowpath's. Which ever way you decide, you have to make some movies of it because the quality of the clips you have w/ your pack's is pretty darn good.

Well, I'm going to give the Pro Streets a try. I'll order them after my next paycheck. I'll keep you all informed and will have videos to follow.

I have had the ProChamber with various mufflers, but when I switched to the catted X, the car just felt stronger up top. So I'm keeping it. I may not have dyno proof, but I know what feels good to me.

Awesome sound= Flowmaster single chamber (damn that drone though)
Crazy HP gain for a muffler= Spintech pro-street or sportsman (had both)

BTW Spintechs will last longer than your car, but with an offroad pipe, sometimes the pro streets sound like a blender full of marbles

Spreadman:

Before purchasing, please listen to a clip of a Dr. Gas X-pipe with MAC flowpath mufflers. "That" is what you are describing in your initial post.

I have that video clip. I just do NOT know how to post it, or even e-mail it to anyone. Actually, I've got several clips of Dr. Gas midpipes.

PM "Deadlurker" either on this site or modularmustangs.net. He most definately will have all types of clips for ya.

**** Remember, Dr. Gas X-pipes sound a little different that most. Kinda like an H-pipe at low RPM and NASCAR at WOT. They also make great HP/TQ numbers (better than most). Cobra Killer at T&J Performance swears by Dr. Gas. Many of his customers run Dr. Gas & 2-chamber Flows. A member of modularmustangs.net has the Dr. Gas/Flowpath setup...... that's the clip I downloaded. The Dr. Gas x-pipe also minimizes that "drone" at low RPM. The downfall is that this x-pipe comes in pieces and has to be welded (a little more cost).

Good luck in your quest.

Oh yeah, this "quest" of yours for the perfect exhaust is getting a little scarey (considering all the setups you've had). Ya know, psychological counceling does not hold the same stigmatisms it used to years ago.

I would like to hear the Mac/Dr. Gas setup.

I have not had a chance to purchase anything for the car as I've had some minor setbacks. I broke the 3-4 fork in the tranny and I had to fix it, and now I'm getting a misfire code that I need to address.

If you have soundclips, just attach them in an email to Spreadman@ev1.net.

I would like something loud, but not overly loud on the highway. The Magnapacks are just loud. I like them a lot, just not what I'm looking for down low.

And I've tried clinical therapy, but I'd rather spend money on mods.

Everything you said the 1 chamber will give as long as you don't dump it.
