Currently I have BBK LT headers, BBK Xpipe, with flowmasters on my 05 mustang. What do you guys suggest for as a muffler change. was thinking about Magnapacks. Cant find any magnapack mufflers, only the cat back systems, and all i want is muffler. Ideas.

Regular strait thru Magnaflows, No highway drone, sound great matched
with a X pipe, less restrictive than a chambered muffler. Plus they are
stainless steel.

I should add that, i want something louder than flowmasters. The setup i have now is pretty tame until wot, and then it sounds good with a nice tone. They arent as aggressive as I want, Looking for that "rape anything on the street" sound.

I believe you're looking for 2005-2009 Mustang GT/GT500 MAGNAPAK Axle-back Magnaflow Exhaust The owner (MRaburn) of StangNet owns Planet Magnaflow, shoot him a PM and ask him if he can give you a good deal, he should give you a discount

The Magnapaks will be much louder (and deep) than the flows you have now!

Thanks for the link, Think im gonna pass on the magnapack as they arent as loud as I want. Have a friend who recommended cherrybomb extremes. I know they are a single chamber similar to the 10 series from flowmaster, but with my Long tubes and Short xpipe with hi flows, how loud would it be? Wake up the neighbors loud? Annoying loud? what would be louder 10 series flows or cherrybomb extreme?

I read in your other post that you're going for loud and raspy, have you thought about muffler deletes?

My 06 is really loud and pretty raspy with the stock manifolds and the offroad X pipe and the Magnapacks.

I could only imagine that your car with long tubes and an offroad H or X pipe with any type of straight thru type mufflers would give you the sound you're looking for, I would imagine as long as you have the catted X pipe on your car, it will never be as loud and raspy as you want it (unless you put some cams in) I believe I read in your other post you are running a catted X right? (forget that last question, just re-read your last reply here that you are running hi flow cats)

Is the system you're running now welded in or bolt in? If it's bolt in, you might want to try to bolt in a shorty O/R X pipe, if you have smog test, you just change it out and put the cats back on when it's time, its an easy swap.

Your car with LT's O/R X and Magnapacks=LOUD and RASPY

When you start the car with that setup it will wake the neighbors type loud till the idle goes down, and will keep them up as you drive away LOL.

yea, I am running a short x pipe with hi flow cats and LT's. I want something that will give a loud and aggressive soud, however something that wont break my budget. I have 40 Flows right now, and it just not cutting it, a lot more mellow than I expected until you floor it. I do want to keep my cats on it. Just looking at different options and sounds. Youtube does no justice to exhaust clps.

Be sure to wear headphones when listening to youtube clips, just listening thru your PC speakers will sound like crap, wearing headphones makes a 100% difference

A friend of mine has BBK L/T, O/R X, Saleen and Hot Rod cams. If you don't think that set-up is loud, you need your hearing checked. It does have a raspy yet deep tone.

If you want it loud and don't mind it being raspy, then a muffler delete such as SLP Loudmouths is the way to go.....no mufflers=LOUD. I have them on my '05 GT with everything else stock and they are pretty good. A little quiet for me at idle, but I plan on doing L/Ts and an offroad X, so once I get that done I will see how it sounds and add mufflers/resonators as nessecary.

The reason for mufflers/resonators is to tune the sound to get rid of the raspyness and give it a deeper tone, and also to cut down on drone for highway driving. If you don't care about those things, and just want it to sound as aggressive as possible, then a muffler delete system is probably what you want....

IMO any O/R midpipe and muffler deletes sound like crap. It's too loud and obnoxious. Muffler deletes sound best with the stock catted H. I bet if you asked 9 out of 10 would agree.

Same here I took the SLP's off and put flowmasters on. Just two months ago I decided to take those off and added some Bassini mufflers. My opion I should have done this from the get go. These mufflers are to be one of the best sounding mufflers out there.

The muffler deletes do sound good at an idle with a o/r pipe. But when you give it gas it sounds like crap and is way to loud to be driven on the street. I was stopped by the local police on it at 11:30pm. I did inform them that the new mufflers came while I was at work and will be putting them on first thing in the morning.

The poilce officer was nice enough to let me go but said please coast at an idle speed

Straight through axlebacks such as stingers, bassani race and magnapacks sound best with a x-pipe.
