MUFFLERS HELP

Hey Fam,
I got a 2006 Ford Mustang Gt And to upgrade my Mufflers any recommendations for the BEST out there...was looking at some SLP LOUDMOUTHS and i "think" those are the loudest, because im looking at installing some LOUD mufflers any thought people also how much would i be looking around to spend? Thanks for the help:nice::SNSign:

If you're looking for loud, then from what I've read and heard, the SLP Loudmouths will definitely get you there. The thing is that you will pay a good amount of money getting those shiny muffler delete pipes:notnice: Several have just gone to a muffler shop, have them take the stockers off and make up some straight pipe with tips for so much cheaper.

Borla/Ford Racing Stingers are a nice compromise between the SLP LoudMouths and Stock. They are pretty quiet on normal acceleration but are rather loud and nice sounding on WOT. There are lots of videos of them on YouTube of them also.

My muffler deletes made at a shop were $80.00. That included the 18" x 4" chrome tips. The 4" tips fit the bumper cutout real nice also. We tried different tips until there was a good sound. They are clamped on so I can re-install the factories if wanted. I see no sense in paying the big bucks for something so simple unless you just have to have the "name".

I was going to buy either SLP loudmouths or Boomtubes, but then I got the winning bid on ebay for a new set of magnapacks. I paid only $307 w/shipping. I have yet to receive them, so can't comment on the sound. From what I have read, there seems to be a love hate with the SLPs. Listening the them on videos, the sound terrible with L/T and are too obnoxious IMO with O/R H or X pipe. They sound okay with the stock H-pipe. Boomtubes might be a better choice. They are less expensive than boomtubes, but IMO sound better.

If you want loud you gotta lose the catalytic converters that's pretty much a given. Then from there pick the less restrictive thing you can find.

That's strictly sound of course.

If you just want it louder, pick up an off road pipe. Honestly, I don't like the sound of muffler deletes. There's nothing really shaping the exhaust sound. Just sounds like you've got a hole in your muffler, to me.

Using a larger tip as I did on the muffler delete really changes the tone. Several try to compare the sound with just removing the mufflers and starting the car. That sounds bad. I tried a couple different tips to get a good sound.

Agreed, completely. I started out with SLP LMS. I liked it at first than hated it. My buddy got a muffler delete from a local muffler shop with some long slash cut tips and it sounds amazing !! I've got Magnaflow Magnapacks now and love them.

I am picking up my maganpacks tomorrow. Did you put on a X-pipe or keep the H-pipe? I know drone is subjective but is it as bad as some people say?
