M II Suspension

What are the advantages of the RC kit as opposed to the Heidt's? Who has one and why would you reccomend one over the other. I am ordering one of the kits next week, actuallly on the 2nd.

I don't recomend one over the other.

What sold me is their service and questions they answered prior to my purchase.

Each item is checked before being shipped with a signature of the person who did it.

I have the RC (RC107), and have used the M II on the past (Not Heidts) The quality of the RC kit is EXCELLENT! The owner of RC Motorsports (Willey I believe) has actually made these kits since 1993. He's very knowledgable and has answered several of my questions on more than one occasion.

I'm installing the RC107 kit from R&C. Sundance makes a good case for not needing reinforcement. This weekend I put in the engine and transmission and cut and tacked in the motor mounts. The engine is going to come out to final weld the motor mounts and install the fender aprons and radiator support. This would be the ideal time to add reinforcement. Can someone post specific examples or recommendations?

Also, this may be a strange idea, but would there be a benefit to using shock towers with the lower bulge removed but retain the top shock mount section and then bolt this to an export brace?

Kent, you can still mount a Monte Carlo bar on the inner fenders without having the shock towers.

Replace your export brace by welding tubing directly to the Monte Carlo bar and bolt them to the fire wall in the stock location. See late model bars and TCP's Monte Carlo/export bar for an example. However, I don't recomend TCP's setup as it allows movement...kinda defeating its purpose.

and I guarantee he had a deep country accent. We are installing the same system and have called a couple of times and always get a chuckle from their accents (and we are from Texas as well).

did you powdercoat any of the pieces?

I called Heidts and they told me the M-II kit is the same for 64-68 Mustangs because they are the same widths. Is this true? I thought the 67 and later were wider.

My experience is with the Heidt's kits and I am very pleased with them. The installation instructions are very well laid out and easy to follow, and they'll fax you a copy before you purchase if you want to check them out; just give them a call.
