Danny, how can I tell if k-code, it's a 4 speed coupe that is soooo fast, to fast, all new black interior and painted 2005 stang yellow. it may not be an original hipo, but in my teen years my freind had a 66 shelby fastback, this coupe will smoke it. I got a great deal on it, so I probably was lied to. wheres the #s on block?
k code would be in the vin to designate the original engine in the car. The numbers on the block would be behind the starter, but could pull a valve cover and check the heads for numbers as well
Here's a pic of where you find the casting number and casting date on most blocks through ~'90 I believe:
Rear right corner of the block as viewed from underneath, have to remove the starter as mentioned. If you crawl under there bring some rags, spray gunk and a tooth brush (I used the wife's) as it'll be covered with muck. Post the number and we can decipher. The casting date is the upper number/letters.
