Apparently took my car to a conversion of exterior and interior from 1981 to 1990, at first glance looks like a car 1990 (in mexico there were no mustang from 1985 to 1994), the question another way, as I know if the car is 1990 original or is a conversion from 1981 to 1990?

The VIN is good, is a 1981 mustang of Mexico, to better what changed

If it an 81 Mustang, somebody did a very good job converting the exterior to 87+ specs.

Got any interior pics? I wanna see if any of the 1981 interior components are still present or if it was converted too

Seems like alot of effort to convert the car over. Other than the 4 eye seats doesn't seem to be much left original.

That's not an '81 Mustang....it's an 87-89

Those seats aren't 4-eye seats. They are 87-89 seats. The fabric looks a little different, but the big headrests like that only appeared in 87-89 and '81 rear seat were not split like that at all.

These are the seats from an '82 Mexican Mustang. You can see the rear seat is not split and they used the small headrests

I think it's an 87+ Mustang.....87-89 specifically...with new vin tags applied. If that is a conversion, i'd like to shake whoever's hand that did it because it's factory perfect. EVery wire loom and wire is where the factory put it. I see nothing on that car from a 1981 model year Mustang...even residual brackets and wiring.

The underdash wiring is perfect 87+ wiring using E6 and E7 part numbers...again 87+ Mustang. The kicker is the looms all run where the factory placed them

The paint also looks original. It looks like the body was sprayed first and then the GFX were added just like the factory would do. Someone doing a conversion wouldn't do that.

An AWFUL lot of work to make an '81 look like a factory original 87-89 Mustang. I've seen people convert 79-86's to 87+ but you can always tell something from the original car is left behind...and NOBODY EVER goes through all the work to put factory stuff in.

I'm starting to think the car was stolen from the US, imported to Mexico, swapped VIN's from a wrecked '81 Mexican Mustang and registered as an '81.

Look on the fenders, under the hatch and hood for additional vin stickers. See if there are any other VIN's on stickers here. Ford put the VIN number on every body panel those years in the form of a tiny sticker.

^ Then you have to add the fact that it has Mustang fenders, that made me wonder a lot. It appears to be a SD car so its a 87-88.

it got an 8.8 in or a 7.5? front brake rotor size? i believe in 87 the brake rotors became a larger diameter?

The MC is an 87+ unit...and all the brake lines are factory bent.

Like I said, i truely beleive it is an 87-88

The number of ECC is a 1987 model. The alleged conversion was in 1991, but there are papers before and after that date.
A curious detail, once you put some wheels of a Mustang 1982 or 1983, but was only able to put back, forward could not be, why?

Sorry for my English, a year ago arranged my wheels, it would temporarily put 4 wheels and tires of a 1983 mustang, but I just put the rear wheels, wheels from front did not enter, why?

Because 1983 brakes have a smaller hub snout that is larger on later model Mustangs. That means that it has the larger 87+ brakes on it as well

Do you have any records of this car being converted? Or were you just told that it was converted?

What sort of paperwork do you have on it?

Either the person who converted it did an very outstanding job at it, or it is a Vin-swapped 1987 model.

The hub snout confirms the model.
Only the conversion of an invoice, dated 1991, and almost all papers car (1981)
