My gf really wants an 05 and after graduating berkeley, her and her parents are going to buy one, but for now today I rented one from Hertze and am going to surprise her tomorrow for a day. Does anyone have any good ideas on how I could surprise her?

lol I guess its pretty straightforward I can either go the Key route or the actual car route. I kinda prefer the actual car route and I want to surprise/excite her without her accidentally thinking we bought a car - tentative plan is to take it to her home in the AM and walk her out to it or something.

How about you get bring her someplace where theres more then one car, put a bow on a nearby Neon or something and say its her new car......then give her the key and press the panic button to the new 05 mustang sitting a few spots down or something. Or get her really drunk and pretend your stealing the mustang.

Park it in the garage with one of those big-ass bows like they show on those Lexus adds. I mean come on. Anyone who gives a $50k luxury vehicle to a snotty spoiled white-chick housewife needs to be kicked in the head hard, several times.

OK rant off. But really, aren't those ads condescending in a big way?

Now giving a new Mustang, well that just rocks. Good on ya man for whatever your involvment is.

I say, give her some cheasy broken toy as a gift. Then when she opens it, say that the deal is, she needs to return it to find out what her real present is. Then thow her the keys.

OOOHhhh thats a good one with some mild modification I could really make that awesome. Shes really easy to trick so whatever I do could work.

The getting drunk and stealing idea also kicks ass lol. Ive loved stangs for years and have had plenty of gfs none of them liked stangs tho this one does so I think shes a winner lol I

I drove it around quite a bit today, godamn its fun. I mean its just a sixer so compared to my 95 gt its really lacking in that torque department among a few other things but its real exciting. I can't wait to see the look on her face, she's gonna crap her pants.

man, if you think the v6 kicks ass, go test drive a 5spd gt. the first thing that blew me away was the clutch pedal. it is as light as the pedal in my sti. i got in, and practically put my left foot through the floorboard because i am so used to my stang.

I drove one of those v6 rental '05's too. It was pretty fun. With no effort, I left a huge (I mean HUGE) cloud of tire smoke in a parking lot break stand. It was that thick billowy tire smoke. Mmmmm. . . burning someone else's tires . . . mmmmmm.

I have to think a manual v8 would rock.

Watch out some of those rental companies have black box's in them and know where how and what all was done in the car while you had it, then they charge you for abuse or what have ya! peace

Ya, I thought of that as I was driving back onto the rental lot. Oh well. Been over a month. I think I'm in the clear. I have heard they are using those boxes to monitor driving speeds, and smack on a substantial surcharge for high speeds.

Anyway, back to the thread topic, what's the update???

be dissapointed.
