i have an 85 mustang that i put a 8.8 rear end in,got rid of the 7.5.my question is how do i hook up the brake lines,seems the newer 86-93 use a flex line with a banjo fitting.the old flex line has the block for the 2 lines on the rear and then the flex line ends with a reg brake fitting for a hard line to thread into.i have looked at just about every type of foxbody cars and still keep coming up nothing.So if anyone has done the 8.8 swap in an older 4eye car let me know how you did it.

I bought steel line and a tubing bender and ran the lines from the block to each wheel. No flex line. Worked for me.

I swapped some 8.8 into my 82, and I just used the 82 brakes, lines, flex hose, backing plates, etc.'

I unbolt the backing plates and lines from the axle without opening the brake system at all, just hang it from the car, and it all bolts to the new axle. Also you can leave the emergency brake cables connected.

My 8.8 has the vent hole in exactly the same place as the 7.5 and it all just bolts back in.

i might be confusing you guys,i have the lines and the e brake cables all hooked up on the axle.the problem is the line coming down the framerail is the hard line so i bent up some line to reach the axle.the newer flex lines have a flex line with a big bracket that attaches to the axle.iam trying to find that flex line because the 85 line wont bolt to the axle and the 87-93 have the banjo fitting.

I kept all of the lines that were on the car, from the chassis hard line, the attached flex line, and the hard line that goes on the housing to the wheel cylinders.

It bolted directly to the 8.8. Yours may be different, but my 8.8 housing is from an 89 or 90, I was told, and the 82 lines bolted up directly.
