I have a feeling we might be looking at the future cobra in terms of engine and overall design. minus the racing wing and stuff. What sayest thou?

I'll agree that this may be the next Cobra R. In fact it seems very likely since "Cobra" will most likely not be associated with a Mustang. Plus, this is in more of a race trim than previous "R"s. If this is going to be the $50K special model, maybe there is still hope for a $40K SVT. As much as I really want an '05+, I'm getting really tempted to get an 04 Cobra.

So we can safely assume you don't like road racing cars. Nor autocross or anything other than 1/4 mile runs.

What sucks !
Side exhaust ... Wing [to big] ,Head lights ugly- Front grill is to Open- to can see the rad/fans RICE!

I think the ford designers went alittle Rice on this car-

But then again it wouldn't take much to fit it... New bumper-delete the side exhaust , or make it like 2000 Cobra R [side exhaust]
A new front Grill

If a large wing is an indicator of rice. Then I think we need to change the name of the nhra. And someone needs to let John Force know that he has a ricer.

I could definitely see elements of this thing in the next cobra. Front clip, headlights (maybe), rocker planels and rear diffuser (or look alike) are a good bet. The wing, quarter window covers, and front fender vents are less likely to make it to the street car. Side outlet exhausts might make it if the can make it good and be quiet enough.

Is this car going to be in the NHRA /? Don't think so... yea for auto cross.

Love the new 05- love this 5.0 motor thats in the car-
I just think they could have made it look so much better- Styleing

Look at the second link I posted. His wing is clearly taller than the roof of his car.
As for autocross. So the c5r and the viper gtsr are now rice as well. Since they also have large wings.

Wouldn't a better definition of rice be. Having an large aftermarket wing. Since even the ricers don't come from the factory with a large wing.

Yea the newer body style Viper GTSR is ugly- [it's smaller than the GTR-mustang] but it the car is Built to Auto Cross-

To big for Production model if you ask me-

So what are they going to Run- /? $ 50k ? 12/sec 1/4 mile ?

John Force Wing- [1000hp]
GTR - [440hp

check this wing out on Honda-

Ok did you miss the part where this is a race car not a street car?

Doesn't matter what John Force has for hp people are not equating it to hp levels. They are equating it to heightcheck this wing out on Honda-

As for those cars. The porsche might be the only one designed to go on a track. And neither of those came from the factory with those spoilers. While the GT-R could come from ford with that wing.

I agree. This is a race car concept after all.

Cobra has IRS. This "GT-R" doesn't.

The car looks amazing. In fact I have it as my background.
The difference with this car as opposed to rice cars is that the wing is actually functional.

Yes yes. No one seems to care if it is functional or not they just don't like it. and on rices they don't even get the point that the wing is suppost to push the rear of the car down so it gets better tracktion cause all the ing ricers are front wheel drive...i think you get my point.

It's fine as a racecar...

But it's going to look stupid when we have '05s running around all over the street with wings like that when they aren't needed. That thing screams 'boy racer' to me.
