As for the wing...note I said "it doesn't belong on a street car" I agree to it being necessary for a race car. That's the problem, people put it on street cars, worst yet, some of these people actually believe it increases the horsepower of their cars if the car is on a track, it has a purpose, just like the even biger sideways wing on a Sprint car.

The guys over on GMInsideNews.com are really trashing the car for being "rice", but they are hypocritical a lot of the time. I pointed out the C5R, and am awaiting some sort of inteligent response.

As far as the wing goes. Straight from Ford.
The prominent composite rear spoiler is probably the most striking exterior design element and meets several road-racing sanctioning body rules.

Some of the details make me think they are trying to cater to another group of enthusaists who don't like V8s anyways...

But that engine is gorgeous.

Don't expect any 3.7" bores (read: 5.0) from the factory though.

As far as leaving the hood unpainted to attract some of the import crowd. I wouldn't bet on it. I am going to assume some of you don't remember the late 60's. This car was made to remind people of the boss 302. Which was long before rice ever came around.

That wing makes me want to It does not belong on a street car and I wish the fools who put it on 4 and 6 cylinder cars would learn that it only shows their low IQ when they do put one on. I thought we did weird stuff in the 70's to our cars (skinny front tires, big fat ones in the rear and the butt way in the air), this ricer crap is getting rediculous. (BTW, I hate the term "ricer" but everyone knows exactly the meaning when that word is used). I also hope they tone it down (a lot) for a street version.

The car looks BEAUTIFUL, wing and all. Some of you need to learn the difference between rice and non-rice. There is nothing on this car that says "rice." It's obviously built for the track and will be the next Cobra R. If I was driving a 500hp mustang around a track, I wouldn't mind that wing at all, it's called being FUNCTIONAL. I'd hate to see what current day cars would look like if some of the people in these forums deisgned them.

Then paint it flat black instead of that lame-looking carbon fibre crap. CF is fine as an interior accent or a vehicle construction material, but I HATE the way it looks as an unfinished body panel. Makes it look too much like a Civic.

If this is any indication of what the 2006 SVT is going to look like, I will reclaim my deposit and cancel my order.
