Well, to get to the oil pump on our engines, you need to go into the timing cover and all that junk. All that could be is just a relocated filter (or sender? I don't know much about the oil system) for easier maintenance. I don't think anybody uses an electric oil pump, the gains are absolutely not worth losing your engine if you have an electrical problem.

Come to think of it, that setup might not create a mess. Being that high above the engine and that orientation of the filter, it might all drain out. :shrug:

If done right you will never lose an engine with the electric pump. All you do is use a murphy switch to kill the engine if it drops pressure. There are alot of racers that use the electric system because it doesnt rob any power not that you lose much but they are used in alot of race cars.
