I know this is an old thread, im sorry to bump it up, but i had to!
The shop that installed that MII crossmember might as well have a done a clean job, but i wonder how much they know about actual suspension! Or how much they care about the cars they work on.
Nobody in their right mind would install a crossmember hangin that low knowin the car was goin to be lowered, but on a stocker too imo, they should have welded it on top of the stock fame, that way you would have had the chance to run a much longer coil but still be very low, with much improved ride.
If the problem with a higher crossmember was the motor fitting, that would have to be worked out. But to me this is plain and simple half assin it.
I find it incredible that you had to rise the car to sort it out, if i was you i'd bring it back to whoever has done it and make them fix it. If you wanted the car to be low, the LOW has to be.
Hope all is well now, and sorry for the rant.

there is a certain way things have to be to work, if it were welded on top of the frame the motor would be sticking through the hood
