So I got my car back from paint, let me tell you I have painted many cars this one turned out the best. But driving it home at midnight with the top down was ****ty. Well here it is first was 2 coats of blue sealer, then two coats of base then two coats of clear. Enjoy

Looking sharp! Question, though... why didn't you take the locks and blue oval out?

I would have left the mirrors, windshield trim and cowl cover OEM black, but to each his own, other than that, looks like you did a hell of a job, that will buff out super sweet!

Window trim and such can be adressed later if he doesnt like it this way.

Car looks very good. I assume it was jambed before the outside was painted? If so cars going to look damn good. Get some sun pics as soon as you get it all back together!

the pass and drivers door locks were taken out, the rear is rivited. ford emblem was fine lined. door jams, under hood, and under the trunk lid were already done before (view other thread). there is no orange peal or very little ( factory paint has more orange peal ) it just looks that way because it was still wet.

BTW it is getting wet sanded and polished in spring.

Looks good. Is the clear a two part urethane? If it is and you have the time wet sand it now before the clear really cures hard. It will be a lot easier.

Also - Edit the pics smaller.

TomCat, where in Utah are you at?

did you not read, the clear was still wet it always looks like that. when you see it in person there is less orange peal than factory paint.

I agree with OFCR MOE, I have painted stuff where after I spray, the parts have alot of peel in them, once they are baked, the orange peel literally disappeared. The old body shop I worked at NEVER had to color sand and buff anything, never any peel, dry spray, runs, sags. He really knew what he was doing. How come you didnt take the bumpers off?

Glad it dried better than the pictures. That would be a lot of sanding. Post up some pics now that it is dry!
