Mustang Plus!! What's The Deal!!!

I win a ebay auction for a billet gas cap setup. I pay using paypal as instructed by ebay! I get a catalog UPSed to my front door with a invoice stating the part is out of stock. How the hell is it out of stock and I won a auction for it. These guys have really pissed me off. Why borrow my funds and not provide me with a product. I am in the same state so I figure I would have product in three days at the most. Then I read the invoice and it said the product is due in August 04, hello, it is October now.... I need to go to the range and shoot my glock. This is why companies get bad names. What happen to being just plain old honest and say we do not have the product in stock. Do not take my money and hide behind UPS.... :bs: :bs: :bs: :bang:

I have said it before and I will repeat it.....Mustangs Plus SUCKS. Boycott them. Everything they sell can be had elsewhere for the same money or less usually. Ron Bramlett thinks he came up with the concept and word "restomod" and is trying to copyright it! Enough said?

They did the same thing to me. They were very hard to get a hold of, gave me the wrong quote and overcharged me on shipping. I don't give negative feedback because they can give it also. I'm with Ronstang, I've been boycotting them since. I can get the same stuff elsewhere.

I just bought a hood from them, I should have waited and probably picked it up in person since im only an hour away, but they are overcharging, $375 turned into $525 with fee's and shipping  Last time I buy something from them

It's good to see this kind of information about suppliers - I so nearly bought from them, they make out in their catalogues that they're all round good guys...

Imagine how bad it'd be with a few thousand miles of ocean between the buyer and seller!

Florida Mustang have been good to me so far.

I think it is important that we share this type of information to keep others from having to go through this type of junk from vendors who take your money and do not deliver the goods. The shipping charges is another way to put extra funds in their pocket. If your buying hoods etc, find out who they are shipping through and get your own quote. I was almost over charged for a hood delivery but I told the vendor I could ship it cheaper using another company, he then changed his tune..... If we do not keep them honest, they will continue to take advantage of others... :flag:

I use to do a lot of business with Mustangs Plus. I got some 620 springs from them for $55 shipped. However, that was the last time I did business with them. After seeing their prices and the rumors of "restomod" being copywrited and the whole TCP issue...I stopped using them.

If the auction did not say it was out of stock, you should leave negative feedback. If the auction said "contact us before paying" dont leave negative feedback. A lot of times ebay will send you an invoice with the option to pay for the item, but, at the sellers request, they will send you their own invoice when they want you to pay.

As I said, i would leave negative feedback. Go ahead and let them leave it for you. What could they possibly say? "Buyer paid too quickly?" People will read that feedback that they leave you. Remember you can respond to it too. What have they said since you have contacted them?

They have a whole other dept for Ebay auctions there. I won something from them, called them up the day I won it before I paid and wanted to order more parts from their catalog over the phone and have them put the item in that I won on ebay so i got one big shipment. "I am sorry, we are unable to do that. Ebay auctions are a completely different dept and it would be way too difficult to combine all of the parts together" - BULLSPIT

I drove down there from Oregon to take a look at their operation, I had every intention of picking up the painless wiring harness and a new suspension setup, but I just couldn't bring myself to buy something from a group of sales men whose vocabulary consisted mostly of "Uhhhh" and "Ummmm" when I was asking basic questions about their products. Just couldn't do it.

I purchased most of my suspension from them, and was for the most part satisfied (freight was kind of costly). I too have found that a lot of the things they sell can be had cheaper elsewhere....and I just had to LMGDMFAO when I saw the big deal they were making over the term "restomod." Oh well, plenty of vendors out there.

Yes, Restomod (TM)...being in the business, I've been a bit reluctant to use the word. Not so much out of legal fears, because I believe the trademark claim doesn't hold any water, but somewhat out of the negative connotation the word is picking up because of it.

Are the feelings expressed in this thread what I want to come to people's minds when they see the word on my site or in my promotional materials?

Hey the term restomod is fine and noone has a problem with it what they have a problem with is jerk off Ron Bramlett thinking he came up with the concept and coined the term. The funny thing is that what most people do with an old car is restomod in some form or other and has been that way since the dawn of the automobile. I have been using the word along with others I know in this hobby for much longer than I have known about Mustang's Plus and I'm not real sure of it's origin but I can tell you that I had been using it before I ever read the term in a magazine so it's origin is unclear in my mind and belongs to the hobby in general and not to the ego of one person like Ron Bramlett.

the funny part about all of this is they get ripped on a lot in this forum but never come on here to defend themselves or learn what the community is saying about them.

We get posts from people from mustangdepot.com and used to get posts from former TCP employees. If I was getting ripped up as much as they do I would be on here trying to figure out whats up

My $.25:

I bought a carpet set from them online and it seems very cheaply made. Cheap sewing and the carpet was all fuzzy (kind of like it was used already). I called them about it and they will happily refund my money, but not the $14 it cost to ship it to me or the cost of sending it back to them. I'm pretty disappointed and will never buy from Mustangs Plus again.

Probably just end up keeping and using the crappy carpet but wont be happy about it. Not a good way to do business if you want repeat customers.

I called them today to inquire about my ebay auction purchase. The guy on the phone was not smart enough not to let me know they have been out of the item for months and do not know when they will get anymore. I then asked why the H_ll are you guys selling items on ebay that you do not have in stock. He said that was normal practice and did not even offer to refund my money... I had to ask him... To everybody in this forum, please stay in school!!! These guys are a good reason to get a college education. Dealing with these guys is like talking to lower level of humans, close to chimps...
