Mustang Rear End ABS Question

if you are not going to use the ABS system then yes.

Not without having that axle shortened. You won't be able to push the axle in any farther because it will be butting up against the diff pin.
Also, Removing the ring is a bear, you need a large press and a nice adaptor or that ring will fold over like a taco shell.
The good news is that Superior Axle and Gear and Moser are two companies off the top of my head that can size axles to fit the application, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't cost you extra.

Wait a minute, upon re-reading your post I'm not sure if you are aware that that ring is pressed on to the axle itself, so if you are replacing the axle with a shorter one, just make sure the shorter one doesn't have that ABS ring on it, and remove the ABS sensor from the housing before you install the new, shorter axle.

ohh I did not see the part about pushing the axle in.. thats impossible it would hit the center pin in the carrier.


aure you can remove the abs rings but you can not push the axles in any further
