I would say that from my experience, most dealership techs do NOT want to work on aftermarket stuff.

You should call around to front end shops and see who has experience with CC plates. You really want to find a performance shop that has an alignment rack.

Your best bet is to start making calls, start off with your local front end shops and specifically ask if the front end tech is experienced with aftermarket CC plates and how to align a car with them. Just start calling.

Me personally, I installed them myself and did my own alignment. I LOVE my job.

You can probably have an independant Mustang/performance shop do the install for cheaper. The work will be as good if not better (dealers don't necessarily like to install aftermarket parts).

The chosen CC-install shop should be able to eyeball alignment enough to get it close. Your caster and camber could be off a bit (camber affects toe). Just ask the guy to use a tape measure to check toe before you leave. You can get accurate to 1/16 of an inch or so this way.

My experiences with the dealership are probably not as common, but I've yet to experience a Ford dealership that wasn't just as willing to do aftermarket stuff as stock replacement.

I've only needed to utilize the local dealership for a couple things on my 5.0, but their attitude can best be summed up by the following, literal, q&a.

Me: "Would you guys be willing to do a ring & pinion swap and install a new trac-lock at the same time?"

Dealership: "Of course. We can do anything. We can turn your mustang into a bus if you like."
