we've been goin through the process of fixin it up, before we painted it, it was a ugly blue with black wheels, we took it out through the pasture and it seemed to hold its own....(not much but grass and crops around here, there's a national grassland a hour away) but since its been painted we took out the engine and have been fighting it....It was burnin oil when we got it so we pulled the engine, ended up one piston was froze. we replaced the piston honed all the cyl. and thought everything looked good and threw it together. It had a little knock to it and the antifreeze started gettin into the oil, hoping thats just a head gasket...anyways took the engine out again, and the crank needed to be turned, started out 30 over and 20 out and they thought 50 was too much so i just got a new crank to the machine shop today. Now we're waitin on a shop to recondition the rods (had to buy a new one for the froze cyl.) Hopin to get it back next week but I move up to school sat. after next, so i guess it will be a weekend project throughout the winter, it'll be fun when its done.
On a side note, I thought it'd be fun to take it to the drive in throw the windshield down and have a good time....one problem no speakers or radio. Ended up I found a plastic rock at menards (for hiding eyesores around the yard like electrical boxes...etc) and I made a plywood speaker box that fits under it (put 2 6x9's and 2 5 1/4" round speakers in it) and I'm drilling holes to let the sound out......(that is the longest process ever, not quite done yet). I printed some graph paper and I have it taped down....there's prob about a billion holes to drill..... but it will be sweet afterwards. It wont see much trails or pasture after everythings done, it will definitely see some car shows....
