My 06 goes 13.77 with 225 miles on it

Took my new 06 to the track tonight. Made three passes. Had to turn the traction control on to get that 13.772 @ 98.49 mph. With traction control off the tires spun to the tune of 13.909 and 13.971.

I'm sure the car would see maybe a tenth more with full traction. Looks like I have a little work to do.

I do have an ASP underdrive crank pulley. That's my only mod.

not too bad for a brand new stang. many people have reported better times as the mileage increases. i am sure that practice helps out a bit also!

Nice times.
They'll definitely go up as you accumulate more miles, but aren't you still breaking in the car?
I guess it would be ok.

The owners manual says no break in required other than not to keep a steady rpm for long periods of time. I did put 100 miles on it before I ever punched it. It's just fine after racing last night.

I have a friend with some ET Streets that I am going to give a try tomorrow at the track. I'll let you guys know if I improved my times.

That sounds about right. I ran a 13.72 @ 101mph with 83 octane. I think I could have gone in the 13.50s if I could get the 60' times down

What was your 60'?

My 98.45 mph is a little disappointing but considering a pretty strong head wind maybe that's about right.

83 octane? do you live on mount everest or something?

sorry I meant 87 octane. My 60' was 2.03

Sounds about right. Motor Trend went 13.5 with a stock '05 GT auto.

Take a look at my other post. Two days later and 93 octane I went 13.42 @ 101.8 mph. Almost same 60' even on ET Streets.

My first run with my stock 06 GT was the same, 13.7@101.1 mph with the traction control off!!! Dont believe it helps except for wet weather conditons. Just by adding a cold air intake and SCT tune I dropped to a 13.4. Yet I know this thing can go 13.3 or 13.2 with some good traction. And the thing is an automatic!! Would never thought this possible with the old stock AOD on my 5.0!!!

I have an 06 Mustang GT Convertible, MT. Many say that the verts are slower, but my times were similar to the ones I see here. My best time was a 13.377 and I was at 104.48 MPH. My only real performance mods are the C&L INtake with SCT tune. Stock tires. I was with 93 OCT. It was my first night out on the track, and my time acheived with about 8 runs before that. I experienced a lot of wheel hop with1st gear the first couple runs, so later I did not jump into it with the gas down.
This worked for me for a faster 60 and a better time. I pushed it hard off the line, then let off a little. NO WHEEL HOP, LESS SPINNING TIRES. I think the car leaning back helped at weight to the rear end because it lifted my front end up pretty good. Then pushed it hard again until I shifted to 2nd. Then fast shifting the rest of the way down the track. I love my Mustang and it was nice barking the tires all the way down the track when I shifted to each gear, helped from my Hurst short-shifter.
OK MAYBE the MOTOBLUE Underpulleys, flowmaster exhaust added some horsies to my ride, but then again I am not sure.

Hey guys with the autos. Are you manually shifting the cars or leaving it in D?? Any diference in ET's from Stalling up the convertor or just leaving at idle??
