I have decided instead of rebuilding the 5.0 cfi im gonna put the 289 out of my 65 in it along with a c-4. Has anyone ever done this before. I dont think it will be a problem since it is basically the same motor.
Use the right balancer and you'll be fine. For the balancer use an FMS# 6316-k351, then transfer all the external accessories including the water pump and timing cover from the stock 5.0 for your car.
