KIDDING, for sure man. That build looks to be flat out nasty! Can't wait to see the progress, definitely keep a great log on this one, because I'm interested. And hell, you should be FINE with just the S-trim!

YSI would be nice if I fall on a deal on one I will do that later on. An Si upgrade with a straight volute and A2A intercooler will be more cost effective for a street car setup like this. But I am way over budget as it is so that will have to wait too.

Here is a cool before/after on the under side paint the rest of my pics are on my work computer.

Never cared much for turbos I don't like to wait for the power to come in or having to deal with the maintenance on them. Just personal preference I guess.

Here is a shot of the Aeromotive Stealth Sump in the stock tank which has the A1000 pump and prefilfter in the sump.

and the nearly completed motor on the stand

Just waiting on a different balancer hub so I can get my belts sorted out. Then its ready to go in

It's alive but not well acts like a mega vacuum leak or something. I have to give it a lot of throttle and 3-4 times the necessary fuel to hold 900rpm and it breaks up past 1500. It doesn't pull hardly any vacuum. I have a MAP based FAST XFI system

Have checked and rechecked everything tune wise

timing is correct
compression good 140-150
all cylinders firing
fuel pressure holding 40psi
all injectors are firing
plugged off all vacuum lines (no change)
verified low vacuum on computer runs 89-90 kpa holding steady 900 rpm
or about 4in/Hg of Vacuum as read on vacuum gauge
blower is disconnected

I am going to mess with it today, gonna pull off the intake and reseal it. the gasket on one side looks maybe a touch high (looking inside the port).
If this is not it I think I will have to take it somewhere for a second opinion.

I wanna drive this thing dammit

I know it may be a PITA at first.

Just wait until it's done, and running right though. You'll have one HELL of a combo when it comes to running!

I had a huge vac leak when I fired my motor for the first time. We found out where it was by pulling the vac line off the brake booster and blowing smoke down the tube. Smoke started pouring out from under the upper intake manifold and it turned out it was a bad seal between the upper and lower.

The smoke machine was a something my friend had at his shop that he used for emissions testing...a lot cleaner than spraying carb cleaner all over the place.

Good luck

Good call on the smoke, we use that at work too. And like you said, alot cleaner than using liquid.

Sounds like the intake manifold to me too, maybe a gasket moved when it was installed or something dumb like that???
