So, back in March I picked up a 93 GT. The car had 118k, and was bone stock except for the exhaust (no cat x, full header-back system) and a Hurst shifter. At some point, the previous owner had ran out of talent and swiped the passenger side down something stationary lol. The passenger side headlights (all 3 pcs) were gone, the pass front fender looked terrible, and the pass rear quarter panel appeared as if Stevie Wonder himself had taught Helen Keller how to do bondo work
Crap.
So I started with the mechanical stuff. Wheel bearings and brakes all around, pinion seal, fluid changes, tie rods, water pump, aluminum radiator, etc. Had some issues with the TFI and distibutor (see thread here:http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/threads/so-my-car-died.892154/ ) and ended swapping in a Motorcraft dist and TFI, along with building my own TFI relocation kit (with some help from my oldest boy). I should add that I daily this thing, around 55ish miles per day.
Fast forward to this past weekend... I picked up a 90 GT "roller". It has a clean title. It is Twilight Blue over Titanium. It does not have any front suspension/ kmember.
It came with:
-8.8 rear end; 4.10 gears, 31spl carrier, Moser 31spl 5lug axles
-T5 trans with Steeda Tri-ax shifter
-Coilovers on the front
So..... heres the plan. I've got a complete kmember/suspension for the front lined up to go pick up next weekend. I'm going to smooth the bay, feather out the very few dings/imperfections, and repaint the car using the factory colors. Once that is complete, I'm going to buy a truck for DD duties. Then the drivetrain/harness/interior will be pulled from the white car and put into the blue car. The "long game" is to then completely fix the body/frame of the white car, with help from my oldest son Tanner, who turns 8 today. Then build a drivetrain, etc, and that can be his first car.
I will make sure to document the process with pics, however slowly it may happen.
