I'd walk all over my buddies bolt on Z when I had my mods last summer. Gears help big time.

my buddy has one, there pretty fast, he ran a 14.4 at the track, with just an cold air intake, prolly couldda went a lil faster too. Get gears, ud pullys, and a good exhaust setup, and youll be right around 14.00, if you get an intake, youde own em

GEARS will help you leave him sitting at the line IF you don't spin like crazy that is ,but with those 10.5 out back that really shouldn't be a problem. Oh yeah and install those pullies.

Woah are we talking about him racing a 04 Z06 or a freakin LT1 Z28? He has an intake manifold, full exhaust and some other bolt ons, those should put you past him with a decent launch on your part. With some 3.73s it will be a bitch slapping session.

This is true.

You don't need gears...

Just don't lift.

the LT1 should hit 13.8-14.1 depending on the driver, if you can hit faster than that you should win.

You should win if you cross the finish line first!

It will be a close race if you had gears. If his car was auto you would definitely beat him. I have a freind who used to have a 95 auto lt1 camaro(traded it for a 95 stang ). when I hooked up, I beat him by .01 with a 9.44 in the 1/8. All he had done to it was 3" exhaust. Now my cousin has a 95 TA vert auto with exhaust, and he had the transmission rebuilt with a shift kit. He ran a 9.06 in the 1/8 once, but averages around 9.2-9.3.

Chevy's 700R4 performs just as well as the six speed for some reason. They are not like comparing T 5's to Aod's.

i raced one before i got my blower and it was a massacre, not even close. he was talking so much crap and wanted to put $50 on it but i thought he had a bottle or something because he would open his hood or trunk and he was saying how mustangs are the slowest thing ever. his girlfreind was sitting there watching as me and him did a quick 0-90 street race......and then when i won she ran up and we started making out and she wanted me to bring her to my house so we could......ok fine i lied about the last part but i did smoke him....
