Its a 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII. Has 111K on it and runs like a champ. No noises or smoke at all. Has the 1-2 shift fix and the blend door mod for the A/C. The Air ride has been replaced with coilovers and T-Bird shocks. Has full polyurethane bushings and new ball joints, new injectors, 255 fuel pump and sending unit, new HIDs..... he is a Mark VIII nut and has two more. He took unbelievable care of it and has worked on the car since new when his best friend purchased it. Has all doccumentations and the inside is damn near perfect.
Down sides. ITS FOCKING HEAVY!!! The CD changer quite but I am high bidder on ebay. The D/S fender is the wrong green. Lady backed into it and he put on a fender from a total. Fenders perfect but wron color so its about $250 to have painted. Then there is also some small dammage to the bumper which I think can be patched at the same time. And it has prolly 20 door/hail dings on it.

It will hang with my old Cobra from 70-100
Let me know guys

they are good cars, however if an airstrut goes out, then its an expensive fix. although you can convert to regular springs. also the HID bulbs arent serviced through ford anymore, they sell a kit to convert to halogen.

edit: oops didnt see the replaced the struts already, good call.

Looks good.

Smart move replacing the air bags with t-bird springs. The air ride suspension is great...when it's new and works. The bags leak like crazy and deflate on the road. It was the reason I sold my '93 Mark 8. If i had kept it i would have done the t-bird springs.

I just needs tint, SN95 hubs all around and Cobra 13" brakes and 17's

btw...have you seen www.markviii.org

Yeah Mike, That site has been a great help and when I saw everything they reccomend he did I knew it was a done deal. But how so I do sn95 hubs all the way around? Isnt my car IRS? Or I guess you are talking about 99+ Cobra stuff...... NM im tired

Anyway im gonna do the Cobra kit they have for it for $600 eventually. There are some killer 18s at Tire Rack I like for $130ish each so again when funds permit. I will have to order new tires by the end of next month Up side is 245/50/16s are only $68 each
I will also do the larger rear sway bar and its getting aligned tomorrow as he hadnt done it since he did the suspension overhaul. It also just gave me an MIL for "both banks lean" and im not sure what to do about it
Im thinking MAF cause the posts are cut off and I think it really needs thoes to get an accurate reading.

Clean car man, that fender is no biggie as it looks great fitment wise.

Looks like you got a great buy, that motor looks CLEAN as does the whole car.

Only thing I dont like is the wheels. There are plenty worse out there though, lol.

For the front it's Sn95 hubs and the brake stuff. Out back you'd need to do 99+ Cobra stuff. There are links and write-ups all over Mark 8.

Downside is the lug pattern is different. 5 x 4.25" vs 5 x 4.5 on the SN95 stuff...so you'd have to do all 4 or none at all.

It was one thing i wanted to do to mine but never got around to. A 3800 pound car needs good brakes

If I only coulda swung two cars and paid off all the bills. There is a Cobra 98 I think for $3000 with under 100K but alot of hail dammage. Front and rear windows gone and the hood trunk and roof are pepered. New hood, new trunk but still labor for the roof would be nuts and I dont have the time to build one now but rest assured I will have another Cobra by this time next year for the weekends

The Mark is a killer ride but its hard to stay awake while driving it. Too quiet, too smooth, seats like Lay-Z-Boys and the slushbox

Thanks and if I could fit a DD I would but I would have to trim the bezel and crap and im not too good with plastic/fibreglass work so if I do one it will be a flip out
The Fords didnt really start seeing real DD openings till the 01 Mustang. The Marks stereo it 1 3/4 din Focking Ford
I have seen pics of guys getting two single din chasis in there but as I said the bezel is more than I wana mess with. The car is too clean inside.

im kinda new here but i got the pleasure to see pictures of your cobra on the classifieds before you sold it. I loved that car to death. BUT, i know how the bill situation goes, i had to sell my 04 GT to pay off some bills, atleast you are lucky enoug to still get a pretty sweet car after selling your cobra. I didnt get that pleasure, i bought a 98 Ford ranger 4 cylinder 5 speed. but anways man the car looks sweet and congrads on getting another sweet ride
