Went to the machine shop today. Block is still good so that means no need to bore it out or new pistons, so the stock ones will be flycut( the correct way). The valve seals, and rings were spent which would be my smoking/ oil consumption problem. Hopefully by the end of this coming week I will have it back to take pictures for you guys and so I can put the heads on. Looks like the engine is going to be ready long before the engine compartment will be unless I can convince my old man to put it inside for a week or so. Slowly but surely its getting done! I should get some pictures of the S trim too.

Well I took out everything that is coming out for paint and started to clean this nightmare. Remember I only started, I am about 3/4 of the way done and then I will just clean it once more quick then wipe it down afew times with reducer. Should start taping sometime Saturday once the cleaning is all set and on Sunday afew buddies and me will be spraying it.

I'm glad I got to see the firewall. I'd like to know what that drain is for on the firewall. I circled it in this pic. I'm wondering if that is where anti-freeze is draining from on my car. The anti-freeze is landing on the cats and causing clouds of vapor. I don't see the anti-freeze leaking from the hoses or radiator at all. I also notice vapor on the windshield from the passenger side. Could it be the heater core?

That drain is where the AC condensation drains out when you run the AC. If your heater core is leaking anti freeze inside the heater box then its coming out that drain hole.

Consider yourself lucky its coming out that drain tube and not soaking your carpet with anti freeze because thats pretty common also.

JUST finished all the sanding and taping with blackened, just have to cover the fenderwells in the morning and afew various things in the barn. GearHd and Blackened are coming back over tmw(today) and we're going to get the painting all set, cant wait. Then this week after work I will be working on cleaning/painting the small parts that came out of the engine bay and putting them back in.

Well blackened and Gearhd came over today and Gearhd sprayed it. Came out awesome. Here are some pictures with primer and the finished product. The paint isnt as red as its showing in the pictures its just the lightning, its the same color as the car. Cant wait to pull the tape off tomorrow.

It came out great, but the pics don't really do it justice. It's a completely different color than what the pics show, and looks awesome in person.
