I went to the track this weekend and as expected, my car makes not nearly the power it should and its slow as hell. I ran a 15.2 at 94 mph. I can't figure out where the power is being lost. I know i need a higher stall converter, but it still does not have the power once it gets going.
Well anyway, i wason my way ome when overdrive began to slip, bad. It has never slipped before. Then i looked behind me and i looked like a crop duster going down the road i was smoking so bad. I let the car cool and checked the fluid level and it was fine. So i continued on my way, and overdrive was still slipping, but i went up a hill is slipped real bad, and then it started smoking again, the tranny fluid was all over the exhaust. So i stayed out of overdrive and made it home. MY question is why did it start slipping like that. I didn't use overdrive at the track at all. And where was the fluid coming from? I think that when the overdrive was slipping, the friction was so hot that it boiled the fluid and sent it out the vents on the top of the trans. I the changed the fluid, it was a little burny. I finished and took it for a ride today and the car shifted and went into overdrive without a problem. What the hell is going on? Any ideas?
Sorry about the length

That cam doesn't look like it matches those Highports very well, but I think most of your issues are in the tranny/converter.

Are you using a stock converter? If you need a converter look at www.edgeracingconverters.com Andre is a really good guy and his converters are very popular with the AOD crowd.
