My Four Eyed Project!!

So I've finally found a reliable place to get new fenders, trunk lid, etc. Anyone have any recommendations for anything I may be overlooking that needs to be replaced?

not w/o physically looking at the car to get a better idea or atleast better pics. example doors ( the bottoms inside and out). you will no doubt figure it out has things move along and notice stuff.

yeah you got alot of work. I don't know what your hopes and dreams are for this car but lets say you sink 2-3grand in middle of the row body work, it's not going to last very long before it busts out. The pass side rocker is pretty rough along with the jamb itself not including the rest of it. The jamb might be surface and some snadblsting will clean it but the rocker needs replacing to save it IMHO.

You didn't give any good pics of the lower part of the door itself but going by the pic of the DS you can make out rust in the door skin seam. W/O seeing pics of the actual bottom of the door to see if it is gone at the very least you will have to clean out all the seam sealer and sandblast the rust out of that joint or it will be back in no time at all. I don't know your cash flow or limits for this project but think about it before you jump in, this one could bleed you hard ( sorry trying to be honest). Mine wasn't even close to the shape yours is in and cost a good amount to get right so it would last. Best of luck if you go for it.

I want this project to much to just pass it up because of difficulty. Yea I know getting rid of the rust may cost me a bit, but I new that when I bought it. I'm just going to take my time with this project, BUT I am hoping to have this rust issue solved, and have this car primed and painted, by may. There was a point where I looked at my car and said this is gonna be impossible, but now all I see is the finish product when I look at it. This car is the one for my project I just have to get it done.

well in that case have at it and have some fun. post pics of the progress & best of luck :nice: and a side note I wasn't suggesting passing it up due to difficulty but to evaluate how far you where willing to go. I have seen many a person invest in something that killed them in the end and you will not get it back. If you are willing then by all means, I have seen worse come back to life.

Actually its my second mustang, my first was a 1996 3.8 with an explorer intake and performance suspension(idk what brand was on there when I bought it) and it had a flowmaster catback and I could easily do that if I wanted an aero car, but four eyes are next to impossible to find where I live..at least convertibles are, hatches are findable, but a lot are priced like their actually running

Man, I have about 6k in my car and I haven't even touched paint and body. And I've done all the work myself.

:stupid: I'm well north of that and mine still isn't done, finally painted atleast. although the drivetrain( new tranny/ built rear /motor freshend), suspension and brakes have already been redone. I still have a motor planned for the future, damn money pit :D

Well a lot of the body parts I'm gonna get free from my uncle, as well as help, that's y I was thinking 3000 would be enough for the body work(minus the paintjob), the engine and transmission I want is a whole different ballpark.plus I want to take a ugly car n make it beautiful not just drop an engine in some princess.
